Director Min Jin-ki Praises Kim Da-som at ‘Salon de Holmes’ Press Conference | ENA Drama News

The spark of chemistry, heartfelt compliments, and a few unexpected laughs the ‘Salon de Holmes’ press conference had it all.

On June 16, the cast and crew of ENA’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, Salon de Holmes, gathered at the Stanford Hotel Korea Grand Ballroom to introduce the new comic womance action series. In attendance were Director Min Jin-ki, co-director Jung Hyun-nam, and lead actors Lee Si-young, Jung Young-joo, Kim Da-som, and Nam Ki-ae.

Set in the vibrant Gwangsan Public Housing Complex, Salon de Holmes follows four formidable women a former ace detective, an insurance king, and the queen of part-time jobs — who form a quirky yet brilliant crime-solving squad. Together, they take on corrupt villains hiding in plain sight in their apartment community.

During the event, Kim Da-som reflected fondly on the filming experience.

“We laughed so much on set,” she said with a smile. “Since we filmed in Chuncheon, we often went out for dakgalbi and coffee. The seniors would take walks, chat, and make every day fun. Even the director would curate a playlist that matched the day’s mood — it felt like a scene from a movie.”

Veteran actress Nam Ki-ae echoed the sentiment, calling the atmosphere on set “a perfect 100 out of 100.”

“Si-young led us with poise, Yeong-joo felt like my older sister  always taking care of others  and even though I’m more reserved, everyone made me feel comfortable. Da-som is surprisingly down-to-earth and energetic  you forget she was once a K-pop idol.”

He continued with heartfelt praise:

“What impressed me most was her eagerness. She knew Park So-hee would be riding a motorcycle, and she began practicing immediately. That kind of grit told me she could handle this tough, emotional role. She even cried in scenes where it wasn’t required her sincerity shines through.”

Min also shared a more personal reason for casting her:

“As a former entertainment PD, I’ve seen how hard idols work behind the scenes. I sensed that Da-som had endured a lot. That depth gives her a unique strength, and I believed she could bring Park So-hee to life.”

With an ensemble cast full of charisma, relatable humor, and emotional depth, Salon de Holmes promises to deliver more than just laughs — it’s shaping up to be a standout drama of the season.

Don’t miss the premiere of Salon de Holmes, airing June 16 at 10 PM on ENA.
