Popular Korean DJ and influencer DJ Soda emerged with a voice that counts after she faced sexual harassment during a recent holiday.
In a short video uploaded to her socials yesterday the 3rd, DJ Soda revealed:
“These men cat-called me a couple times while I was photographing. You guys are totally gross.”
The video clip, now trending with mass publicity, shows a clique of Western males openly gazing at DJ Soda around a lakehouse area. Inappropriate behavior from the males has created an uproar over the issue of street harassment and the persistent issue women continue to experience, including while casually having their picture taken.
“I was just clicking photos around the lake,” she wrote. “These men cat-called me. That is gross. Don’t defend it. Don’t take it for granted.”

In context, cat-call refers to the act of making unsolicited sexual comments, whistling, or gestures at a person most times women and is widely regarded as a form of street harassment and sexual indiscretion.
This is not the first solo struggle DJ Soda has shared within the past weeks. She also openly shared that she suffered severe hair loss after a bleaching process at a beauty parlor that left her battling depression. Flying out to Germany last month and now recuperating and recovering, she needed space and time away to recover.
Why This Matters?
DJ Soda’s candor is no celebrity afterstory—it’s a reflection of a larger issue. Her experience is ringing a bell with fans and victims around the globe who have been through the very same thing. What she is doing with her influence is spread the word about what many suffer in silence.
