The buzz around Love Letter is only getting louder what started as a heartfelt Korean animated film is now turning into a worldwide phenomenon. Lotte Entertainment announced on the 20th that Love Letter (directed by Kim Yong-hwan) has been pre-sold to an impressive 166 countries, including major markets such as Japan, Italy, Spain, the UK, North and South America, Singapore, Australia, and Thailand.
The film’s international journey has already begun, premiering in Vietnam on the 10th, with rollouts across Indonesia (22nd), Malaysia (23rd), and Singapore and Thailand (30th). North American audiences can expect to see it in early 2026, marking one of the most extensive overseas releases for a Korean animation to date.
Building on its growing acclaim, Love Letter was invited to prestigious events like the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) and the Animator International Animation Film Festival. It also swept three awards at the Bucheon International Animation Festival—Feature Film Jury Award, Music Award, and Technical Award—further solidifying its artistic prestige. Adding to the excitement, AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun lent her voice and vocals to the project, captivating fans with both her performance and the film’s moving original soundtrack.

Adapted from Jo Hyun-ah’s beloved 2018 Naver Webtoon series, Love Letter follows transfer student So-ri, who discovers a mysterious letter hidden inside her desk.
