NiziU is hitting their stride onstage and off.
Fresh off their second consecutive win at the Asia Star Entertainment Awards (ASEA), the powerhouse girl group took a moment to reflect on their growth, success, and connection with fans in a candid interview and photoshoot with @star1.
At the ASEA 2025 ceremony, held at K-Arena Yokohama on May 28–29, NiziU captured hearts not only with their performance but also in a special @star1 studio session, where they showcased a more mature and effortlessly charming side.
Widely praised in Japan as “live performance experts”, NiziU recently returned to Korea after nearly a year and a half, making waves with their second single, ‘LOVE LINE’. Their flawless choreography and noticeably leveled-up live vocals left a strong impression on K-pop fans, known for their discerning tastes.
When asked how they approached their ASEA performance, the members shared:
“We prepared three songs, each with a different vibe, because we wanted to highlight all sides of NiziU. We even added a special dance break it was important for us to make this stage feel unforgettable.”
“They hope the performance will not just entertain but deepen global recognition of their artistry and versatility.
“Now We Know How to Enjoy the Stage”
Reflecting on their Korean comeback, the members described the biggest change: confidence.
“During ‘HEARTRIS,’ we were so nervous it was our first time promoting in Korea,” they admitted. “But now, we’re really able to make eye contact with fans and enjoy each moment. It feels amazing to truly be present on stage.”
When asked about their most cherished memory during this comeback, their answer was instant:
“Meeting our fans in person at music shows, fan signings, and mini meetings. It reminded us why we love what we do.”
Humble About Praise, Hungry for Growth
As for the high praise they’ve received in Japan being named “the girl group with the best live performances” the members were touched:
“We’re incredibly thankful and honored,” they said. “Every new song feels like a new challenge a chance to compete with ourselves and grow.”
Teasing the 2025 Tour: “You’ll See a NiziU You’ve Never Seen Before”
Looking ahead, NiziU is gearing up for their ‘NiziU Live with U 2025’ tour starting this September. And they promise it’s not just another show:
“We’re preparing something unique for each city. Even if the setlist is the same, the energy and colors will be completely different.”
Their big milestone this year? Their first-ever hall tour across Japan, spanning 21 cities.
“We can’t wait to meet fans all over the country and show them what makes NiziU’s live stage so special.”
